Host an Expelled Debate
Host an Expelled Debate at your school!
In the spirit of open discussion and continuing the academic conversation we are organizing a TON of DEBATES across the country. YOUR SCHOOL CAN PARTICIPATE TOO!! The subject of earth’s beginnings has been fervently contested for the past 100 years.
Here's an opportunity for you to ENGAGE in THE DEBATE!
These student-led Expelled Debates begin March 2008 at hundreds of schools (just like yours).
Debate Topics
1
Evolution vs. Intelligent Design
2
Faith vs Science
Is Intelligent design faith or science? Does faith have any place in the world of science?
3
Is Darwin Dead?
Debate on the “proof” and validity of evolution verses holes in the current theory.
There are three options here:
a)
Host a full-fledged debate where you bring in an expert on both sides of the issue.
Either a teacher or professional scientist
b)
Host a full-fledged debate with STUDENTS being the debater.
Probably a little more interesting for your peers, but also a little more work in preparing the arguments to make sure the debaters know what they’re talking about.
c)
Host an Expelled “discussion night” which would include watching a previously taped debate between professionals at Harvard University, and then moderating a panel discussion.
Either with a selected panel of students or an open forum discussion with all in attendance.
We’ll provide you with some of the resources, but this will also require some work on your end. Sign-up below and we’ll send you more details.
